It is getting cold outside, and your pets know that. Don’t think their year-round fur coat makes them impermeable to cold weather. Kitty-cat’s and Puppy-dogs can catch those winter nasty bugs too. Here are some tips to keeping your little furry ones healthy and warm this season.

• Pet fashion. Little Killer will just have to deal with the taunts from other dogs at the park when he trots up in his winter sweater.Puppy sweaters helps to hold in more body heat and keep out cold will save you an agonizing trip to the vet. There are such adorable things as pet shoes…but good luck with those if they didn’t even like the sweater! However, you might just inspire the rest of the community to get in on the puppy fashion show.
• Avoid wet puddles. No one likes wet paws or bellies, so limit times on wet grass or snow, depending on the size of your breed. Keep a close eye out for puddles that may be deeper than they appear on the surface. When your walk is over, dry off damp paws softly with a warm, dry towel.
• Pet-friendly heaters. Nothing comes close to the feeling of cuddling on a cold night with your four-legged friend nearby. However, when you can’t be there, your companion can still feel the warmth from a heated blanket or space heater that’s made specifically to be safe around curious pets.

Taking photographs is fun for the most part.  But when you are taking family photo’s and you have a pet it can become a bit tricky.  One thing that you need of have for sure is patience.  You also need to take into consideration things like your location, what you’re wearing, even who’ll be taking the pictures.

Be prepared. Dogs may respond to their names, squeak toys, treats or other interesting objects to capture their attention.  Just remember to have fun regardless to which way things begin to turn.  You may get some goofy pictures that are fun to look at and talk about.  Here are some other tips for having your pet in family photos

Your Apartment MUST Be Puppy Proof

You just got a new puppy for the apartment okay, so you’ll need a few things.  Stop by the local pet store and get the dog food, a couple of toys, a leash and any other supplies for your new pet.  Now what? Getting a new puppy is kind of like having a new child.

You’ve got to Pet proof your apartment.

• Secure electronic outlets
• Tuck any cords that may be hanging
• If those fake plants are toxic then raise them up
• Any cleaning chemicals in the apartment make sure that you store them away safely

You may want to get down on your knees as you peruse the apartment from your dogs perspective.  It’s possible to miss a few things, like those shoes right buy your bedroom door.  Better to be safe then to have to buy some new shoes.  Remember these tips when you decide to bring a new puppy home to your apartment.
